Looking inside the crater of Oyama, the volcano that erupted on Miyakejima in 2000, caused widespread destruction on the island, and forced the evacuation of all the island’s residents to Tokyo until 2005, when they were finally allowed to return.

One the many buildings destroyed by the volcano during its 2000 eruption which forced the entire evacuation of the island until 2005.　This one is not far from Miyakejima’s main port.
